2D Animation

This 2D Animation project is a week-long exploration of learning motion, rhythm, and storytelling through frame-by-frame animation. The goal was to understand how simple drawings come to life using timing, spacing, squash and stretch, anticipation, and emotion. The process began with multiple bouncing ball tests, where I experimented with four different story variations to understand the fundamentals of believable movement. After gaining confidence, I created a 15-second stickman fight sequence at 12fps, which involved sketching nearly 180 frames over two days. This project helped me experience hands-on learning through experimentation, iteration, and reflection. I used Procreate for animation, Pixabay for background sound, VN for sound effects, and Canva for final sync and credits. The outcome is a small but meaningful animation that captures my growth in patience, timing, and storytelling, while also demonstrating how design thinking and an iterative mindset can shape the learning of a completely new skill.
